Product Description The Colonix Intestinal Cleanser is a fiber supplement that cleanses the colon of accumulated toxic build-up and prevents the formation of new build-up through the use of herbal dietary fiber. Continued use of the Colonix Intestinal Cleanser keeps the digestive tract from getting clogged up with mucus, toxins and metabolic waste. It helps to keep the colon clean and waste matter moving freely and efficiently. Fiber also helps maintain a healthy intestinal flora and absorbs toxins in the colon by creating a spongy, gelatinous mass in the bowels. By swelling and absorbing fluids, it breaks down and moves toxic waste matter stuck in the folds and crevices of the colon. A clean colon inhibits harmful bacteria and parasites from surviving on human waste.

I should work for the Colonix marketing department. June 8, 2008 Tracy L. Ast (Kaiserslautern, Germany) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I basically love this stuff.
My husband is into all kinds of cleanses and was talking about a colon cleanse. I am the researcher in the relationship and spent hours reading reviews and even looking at pictures of poo. Yeah.
I was skeptical by the DrNatura website. It looks scammy and has testimonials that sound fishy, but many include email addresses and I talked to these people. I finally figured what the heck and ordered the cleanse for one month.
Within days, I felt SO good! Funny things came out of my bowels and I am positive that they've been in there for years. My husband pooped things that looked like rice, but were in fact parasites! We hadn't had rice in weeks!
It's appalling and satisfying all at once to know that icky stuff is out of you! We had more conversations about our poo than I care to share ...
I still take the fiber because I don't get enough fiber anyway, and I'm telling you, the stuff makes me feel great!
I won't lie to you, the stuff is disgusting. It supposedly has a "pleasant banana flavor" but it's just gross. It's like taking a shot of cold vomit in the morning ... I don't recommend taking it with a hangover, unless you want the "pleasant" banana-flavored fiber all over your shoes. Ick.
I mix it with orange juice as well as I can (it is not very soluble, at all) and drink it quickly because it thickens up if you wait too long. My hubby takes it with plain water, but I'm positive he's psychotic. I say: stick with the OJ.
But you don't cleanse your colon or take fiber supplements for the taste. Believe me ... stick with it and you will feel wonderful! When you are done with the cleanse, I recommend you continue the fiber.
I recommend it to all of my friends. They all love it!
Not sure it works, thinking of returning for refund June 4, 2008 Soniafm1027 (New York, NY, USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
April 3rd I started a very healthy low carb high protein diet similar to the Atkin's Diet, but with more fruits, nuts and salads, in order to lose some weight, since it worked for me well several years before. I searched online for a product that would be good to detox my body and found the info on Colonix and Toxinout. I spent a couple of days reading lots of the reviews/testimonials from "customers" and was convinced to give the product a try, even tho someone I asked told me the product is not worth the money. So I purchased 3 months supply of the expensive Colonix and Toxinout systems and started taking them on April 25th, by then I had lost 18 lbs. on the low carb high protein diet.
I followed the directions precisely and drank at least 8 cups of water a day. The fiber powder has a very revolting taste even mixed with juice. The taste is so disgusting I had to hold my breath and swallow it as quickly as possible, but I figure that was a small price to pay if the product work the way it's supposed to. The following few days I didn't notice any dramatic bowel movements, only thing different was much more intense yellow looking urine, and had several small very soft vowel movements instead of just 1 or 2 soft BMs. The next few days the movements decreased back to 1 or 2 small BMs a day, sometimes soft, sometimes normal-hard.
On April 29th I had bad cramps at least 3 times that day. The next day as soon as I got up I started having chest pains. Thinking it might be gas or heartburn I waited a while to see if the chest pain would go away, but it kept getting a little worst. I tried to lay down and the pain got much worst, so had to get back up. The pain didn't feel anything like heartburn or acid reflux which I have had in the past, before I started eating healthier. I called the help line from my health insurance and told the nurse my symptoms. She told me to call 911 and go to the hospital just to make sure I wasn't in danger. So I called 911 and the paramedics came and examined me and took me to the hospital. I spent most of the morning til early evening in the emergency room with the chest pain getting worst, having difficulty breathing, and unable to lay down flat on the bed, which would make the chest pain worst. Then was moved to ICU where I spent a few hours with arrhythmia in the form of tachycardia, with my heart beating up 135 beats a minute whenever I moved or got out of the bed to use the bathroom. A doctor finally gave me a shot of a medication which got my heart beating more normally. At midnight I was moved out of ICU to a room on another floor.
I spent the night at the hospital, not being able to lay flat on the bed and still feeling mild chest pains up til the next afternoon. The doctors never found out what caused the chest pains or the tachycardia. The chest pain was gone by the time I got home in the afternoon and I didn't have any chest pain since then. I think what may had caused the chest pains may had been dehydration, maybe caused by all the fiber in the Colonix, but that's just a theory. I stop taking the Colonix and Toxinout for a couple of days, but then continue taking it, didn't want to give up on it so quickly, making sure to drink plenty of water. Continued to have pretty much the same results as before, with 2 or 3 small BMs a day. Had cramps a couple of times another day. By May 14 I had lost 22 lbs. on the low carb high protein diet.
The results of the Colonix and Toxinout so far had been disappointing. I never had any weird or disgusting looking BMs like those shown on the DrNatura site, my BMs stayed pretty much the same. I'm seriously thinking of returning the 2 months I have left of the products for a refund. So I don't think I would recommend this product over another similar product. Since I can't prove that the products caused my chest pains I won't give it a 1 star rating. Can't give it more than 2 stars since I feel it didn't work as advertized or made me feel any different than before I started taking it.
Not sure what to think about Colonix..... April 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read about this product on the Colonix website, with all of its gross and dramatic pictures and stories. It seemed plausible that it could be true, that most of us have tons of gunk and parasites built up because of poor diets and not drinking enough water. So I bought a one month's supply and have been on it for almost 4 weeks now. I do feel that the Colonix website reviews are misleading and exaggerated. Perhaps some people really do have the experiences detailed on the site, but I would imagine they are in the minority. I have not had a single unusual "bathroom incident," and I've been following the program religiously. No bizarre unidentifiable masses or rope-like thingys, and no parasites. What I have noticed though, is that the skin on my face has become much smoother and healthier-colored (could be the 2 liters of water though?) and my nails have been growing much faster than usual, even though I am not on any supplements right now---only the Colonix. I haven't noticed more energy, more clear-headedness, weight loss, or anything else other people have claimed. It has been relatively gentle on my stomach, and sorry to be graphic, but the amount of toilet paper used in a "sitting" has been drastically reduced. Yeah, fiber!! All in all, I think it's helping me to "clean out," but I do wonder if the excessive price is worth it. Perhaps less expensive colon cleansers from Trader Joe's or Henry's Market would work just as well? I've never tried them, so I don't know. At this point, not sure if I'll purchase more of this product---Colonix recommends a three month cleanse, but at this price, I'm not sure if I will follow through.
This cleanser changed my life April 14, 2008 Spudmom (Formerly of LA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I was a mom of 4 with brain fog, always tired, bad breath. After reading up on colon cleansing at a natural health message board, I decided to try this product. You can cleanse on your own using stuff that may be found in your own pantry, but the thing I liked about this product was that it was all prepackaged, ready to go for a busy mom like me. It worked slower over a longer period of time which was great, I am a stay at home mom. Hated the taste of the fiber at first, but I learned to drink it with grape juice(my hubby preferred apple juice) but now I can drink it with no problem. I did not feel well a week into the program, but realized that when you are trying to remove years of build up in your body, it can be hard on your system, dislodging all of that junk. By the end of week 2, I felt so incredible. Like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I love the tea, it also was a nice time at night for me and my husband to sit down and talk. You should realize the long ropes they show you on the website is fiber with junk attached to it. Sorry to be gross, but I had to look. I do not tolerate olives well, I had one at Christmas dinner and part of it ended up stuck in me somehow, it was on this rope of stuff in March. There were all kinds of nasty stuff I passed. I also had dull side pain one night and the next morning, I passed a tapeworm. Disgusting!!!!!! I am a middle class American who has only left the country once on a cruise. I will begin my annual cleanse this summer (I do a 1 month cleanse only, the first time I did a 2 month), this will be my 3rd year. I cannot recommend this product enough. Make sure you take a probiotic with it.
Best cleanse I've done March 24, 2008 M S B (LA, CA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I've done several colon cleanses, and this has, by far, been the most effective. I've been doing it about 3 1/2 weeks now. Yes, there are initial cleansing side effects-headaches, and I was constipated for the first day or two. There are 2 keys to doing this cleanse that I found most valuable in achieving effectiveness. 1) and most important-drink lots of water!! If you don't, you WILL get backed up. At least 8 glasses a day, spread out throughout the day. Psyllium husk is a bulking agent, so it expands with water-this is what makes it 'sweep' through your digestive tract. But you must also drink enough water to pass it through. 2) Find a good time for you to drink the kleri tea, and find a good amount of steeping time that's most effective for you. It's different for everyone. If you find that you're drinking the recquired amount of water, and still feel backed up, steep the tea a little longer, and that should help you out. Overall, this cleanse is very effective. I broke out a tiny bit at first, but now my skin is brighter and clearer than its ever been, and I have lots of increased energy. I used to need a nap during the day, but no longer. My stomach has also completely flattened out. I haven't passed anything 'weird' out yet, but will update this review if I do. When cleansing, remember to be patient and gentle with your body. It took a long time to accumulate the materials that have clogged you, so give your body the patience and respect it needs to get through it. Cleansing is a process, not a pill you take to make all your problems go away. The last thing I will say is that this cleanse is very simple, the pills and fiber in the morning, and the tea at night. That's it. I don't work for the company, and I'm not paid to endorse the product. Try this if you're ready to make a commitment to your health.
